Burr....!!!!

11/10/14

Hi Fam!!

I do not have anytime to write you all. But thanks for your letters. It makes me so happy that you are all so well and enjoying the blessings of the Gospel!! They are awesome!! Some things that I learned this week really quick: God always puts us in the place that He needs us. There is always a reason for it. And part of humility is accepting the assignment and having faith that Christ will help you. He always knows better!

Also, cold bucket showers are way worse than cold normal showers because you have to deliberately pour the cold water on yourself!! haha makes me laugh!

Love you all tons!!

God Truly is Aware of Us

11/3/14

Wow!! sounds like halloween was a blast!!!  Well pueblo means really really small town that really does not have anything, stores, banks, nada and everyone is family and knows everyone else. I was in a pueblo but now I am in a grand city. So I am getting used to the city again.  I really enjoyed my first week here. Hermana Rocha and I were able to see a few miracles. One of them was with a woman that we contacted in the street. She was sitting on a rock staring at the ground and we stopped to talk to her. She told us that she was waiting for work because she did not have food for her kids and someone was supposed to come and pay her. She was really worried. We asked her where she lived and set up a time later that day to go see her. Before we went to see her again we stopped at the house of Irma who is a miracle in herself. Super awesome and loves the gospel. When we were about to leave her house Irma gave us a bunch of milk and granola and dried fruit so that we could have something to eat while we walked in the street. super nice. so we took the bag and I said to my companion, do you know where we are headed? to the house of this woman that we contacted her name is margarita. And what did we have in our hands? leche o milk and snacks. And I just thought how wonderful is the Lord. He truly is aware of us. Cada uno. So we found her house and she was not home but her kids were and we were able to give them this bag of leche and snacks. It was a small miracle and it just amazes me how the Lord works! He truly is wonderful. I love the Gospel!! It really changes lives for the better and I love people who are humble enough to accept there weaknesses and rely on the Lord. It is awesome!! They are all such great examples to me. It was a good week. Well I love you all tons!! I hope it is not getting too cold up there!! I cannot believe it is already november. It still feels like the middle of summer here. The sun is so strong! Well love you all!! Have a fabulous week!!

Rain, Rain...

10/20/14

Hello Family!!

Wow this week was a little crazy. We had divisions and I left the area and hna borbor stayed and we had to prepare for 2 baptisms and hermana borbor was a little bit stressed out, but guess what! She did it! We had two baptism this week of our sweet little brother Alberto who is 9 years old and just golden. And it is a miracle that he could be baptized because his mom is super catholic but super awesome and told us if he wants to be baptized in the true church adalante. And my companion invited her to come to the baptism she said I want to make myself clear, I will go of course to support my son but I am catholic. great!! That is perfect. She is awesome. ANd Adela. Por fin!! She has listened to the missionaries for a long time and she is just great!! Golden! It was a great day. It also started raining on saturday and guess what! It is still raining. It has not stopped! So instead of being drenched in sweat we are drenched with water. A nice change after lots of months of sweating nonstop.
And something that I am learning a lot here in the mission is that it is the will of the Lord that will bring about the most miracles and blessings, even if in the moment we cannot see them. But I encourage you all to always keep looking!

I love you all sooo much!

Beautiful World!

10/13/14

Hi fam!!

Well this last week went well. We have some investigators that are progressing really well. One of them is Alberto. He is nine years old and makes me so happy!! I love meeting with him. He is just great! And so smart! We should all be just like those niƱos, so willing to learn and with such a grand desire to follow the Lord.
Well, this week I complete ONE YEAR in the mission!! Can you believe it!!! wow it has been the hardest year of my life so far. But I have learned SO much and I would not trade this experience for any other. I have come to appreciate the gospel in such a way that i do not know how to describe it in words. Amazed! It is really such a grand opportunity to share this good news with people who do not know. And in Spanish?! who knew?!
Well I just love you all so much!! Keep doing what is right because you know you should. And enjoy every moment!! See you in 6 months!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

The Promise

10/6/14

Holy cow family!!!!!!!!!!!!

Well, this week was good. In fact I loved it! Conference was so good!! And guess who didn´t need the subtitles in english when those brethren spoke spanish....me! and karlie! The Lord is truly amazing! i still mess up a lot in Spanish, but I understand everything usually. The gift of tongues is real.

Also, I am going to tell you a little bit more about what happens normally here in Chahuites. We study in the mornings and then we leave to work. And it is normally so hot! We are sweating the whole day. It makes me laugh that I can sweat so much. Everyday a sister from the branch invites us to eat at her house. We normally eat chicken. or more chicken but they change the way to eat it. sometimes in soup. sometimes in salsa. sometimes in mole ( which is a lot of chile and spices and has a distinct flavor almost like chocolate with apple sauce and some spicy stuff). My house is nice. The whole floor is tile. But it is like an oven in there ooooh so hot. I am in a small small small pueblo. Everyone is family and knows everyone else. But I am the tallest person here. And we walk all day looking for people to teach. And it is wonderful :)

Well yes, something that I loved in conference was that we had investigators in almost all the sessions and what did our leaders talk about? The promise that the lord has given us if we want to know if the gospel is true or if the book of mormon is true or if joseph smith was a prophet then all we have to do is search and ask. What a miracle it is and how merciful is our Heavenly Father that He has told us if we want to know that truth about something all we have to do is ask! The promise is real my family!!! Do your part and the Lord will let you know. I have seen this promise a few times here in mexico and it is awesome! You can know too!! And the Lord will bless you.

I love you all so much family!!! I hope everyone has a fantastic week and know that I love you all dearly!

How Great the Lord Is

9/29/14

Hola familia!!!!!

So remember when I talked to you about Virgilio two weeks ago? I need to tell you the rest of the miracle. He did not come to church last sunday and we went to figure out why (now with my new companion) and it turns out that a member discouraged him that he could change. He was hurt really really bad that he shut himself in his house. And he told us if people like that were in the church that he did not want anything to do with it. But we stayed firm and tried to help him feel more calm and then we left. We came the next day and this time he was more calm but had decided that now he did not want to change. He knows the Gospel is true, but did not want to lose his social life. That was so hard! To know that someone knows that the gospel is true and say that they do not want to change because it will be hard. I could not believe it, I did not know how to feel! But I kept praying for him. And then arriving at church on sunday guess who was outside the church....Virgilio!!!! I almost cried and gave him a big hug, but I did not do it because I am a missionary. But I wanted to. He was nervous to enter because he did not want everyone to give him looks. But he entered. ANd then he left after the second meeting. I did not know what to think at this point. if he was going to go back to work in mexico or if what?? Then he sent us a message that said when he arrives in mexico city he will be baptized!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! what!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! I still cannot believe it.!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! How great the Lord is in softening the hearts of people so that they can receive this grand blessing of the Gospel. I just love it!

I love you all so much! Also something that came to my mind this week, sometimes it is just good to say thank you. It can really brighten someones day!

Love you all so much!

Change

9/15/14

Hi fam!

I do not have a lot of time again because today we had transfers and my companion left me! Goodbye Hermana Salazar!! She was awesome! And so now I am waiting for my new companion. I do not know how to spell her name but I will get to know her in just a few hours.

This week was really good. We found a few more people that are interested in the Gospel which is exciting. We have a lot of work to do and we are always running around. And I just want to share with you one miracle that happened this week: the son of our recent convert elsa is listening to us and told us he (virgilio) was looking for a sign from God to change his whole life around, he has a lot of things that he needs and would like to change in his life. He prayed and the next day his brother fell from 50 meters and was in a coma, his mom, elsa was really worried and sad and scared that she was going to lose her son, but her faith is huge so she kept praying, but Virgilio was angry at God and did not understand why God would do this if he was willing to change everything. I was terrified that we were going to lose him because he felt betrayed. My companion and I  exhorted him to pray again, but very specifically about how he would like his answer and he told us he would. we prayed and prayed and prayed came back the other day and he told us that God had answered him exactly the way that he wanted and that he was going to start to change. We were caught speechless!! It was one of the greatest things I have ever witnessed. And Elsa, her son is doing much better.

Well family that is all I have for the week!! I love you all so much!! Have a fantastic week!!!

Sorry iguana!

9/8/14

Hi fam!

I do not have a lot of time and I really have to go to the bathroom so this email is going to be really quick.
This week was really good. We have been finding a lot of new people to teach and I hope that a lot of them will progress. Also we have investigators that we have been teaching for a while that are progressing so well and it is such a blessing to see the change in their lives. One of the is named Jose'. He is 22 years old and just so close to being baptized. I ask you guys to pray for him to recognize answers from God.
Also the picture I attached is of a green iguana that was in the church window. And of course being a Taylor I wanted to grab it just for a second. So worked up the courage with my companion and our ward mission leader, Jesus and I went from behind to grab it by the tail because that is what Jesus told me to do -but that fatter part of the tail. Well grabbed it really fast and it started shaking uncontrolably and pop! he broke his own tail!!!!!!!! so now it is not as long as it is in the picture. Sorry iguana! I just wanted to hold you for a second! Also when that happened it really shocked me and I jumped and hid behind the door. My companion, hna salazar, was laughing so hard as well as Jesus and guess what. our branch president and the elders saw me jump as well. it was way too funny!

WEll family love you tons!!!!!!!!!!!!!

Turtle Egg

9/1/14

Hello my family!

This week was good. We had a zone meeting and we talked about the pure love of Christ. And I am just going to tell you family that this topic of love has come to my attention more than 10 times i believe in these last two weeks. So I have been studying and thinking about how I can be more loving and just enjoy all that happens. I am still in the process but it is amazing how much the prophet and the general conference talks talk about love. It really is the center of everything. Christ died for us because he loves us. And because of this I can live with my family, all of you, that I love so much forever!!! How wonderful the gospel is. So my family, do not be afraid to reach out to someone in love.. everybody, everybody wants to love, everybody everybody wants to be loved. You know that song? well it is true.
We are searching for lots of people to teach that really want to progress. We are just the instrument to give them that push. Because it is something that they desire deeply, but they just do not know it yet. WEll that is all I have time for!!! Love you tons!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
have a fantastic week!

Prayer

8/25/14

Hola Familia!!

Well my family this week was good. We had a little bit of trouble finding people in their houses but we talked to a lot of people in the street. We also had some family nights and it was awesome! Some miembros less actives were in them and they have been coming to church again which is awesome!
There was a rainstorm this week that was really short, but it rained super hard. I was fascinated by it. We are working hard trying to find those people ready for the gospel.
Something that I read this week that was really awesome was the talk by President Eyring in the priesthood session of this last conference. IT talked about prayer and how true sincere prayer can really change you. I encourage you all to read it. It gave me a new perspective on prayer and how powerful it is. I love being here in the mission and learning new things. I think almost all the words from the scriptures and church magazines have a more focused meaning. I love the gospel family and I love you all so much!!! I hope you have a fantastic week and thank you so much for writing me!!!

Service

8/18/14

Wow! Well this week was really busy getting ready for the baptism of Carlos y Angelica. They are brother and sister and are just young kids. But there baptism was really neat. It took a bit of work to get them there, but yes! and I asked Carlos how he felt after his baptism and he said ´happy. I feel the spirit´ how beautiful.
AND guess what I did today!!! I went to the beach!!!!! and we woke up at 4 in the morning to go there. Yes!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! We had a mission activity and we got to go to the beach. It was so great. They let us get in the water, well our feet. It was so awesome! And we played beach volleyball. IT was so great. I had a lot of fun.
And so I do not have a lot of time. But I love you all so much! and I would like to share with you something that I was thinking about this week. As a missionary I have the opportunity to offer a lot of service, it hit me this week of the service that the members here and other personas offer to us missionaries. They answer to every beck and call and are always asking about us. It is like we have 50 moms! But really I had a moment this week when i Just felt so grateful for all of it, it brought tears to my eyes. It is a wonderful thing to be a person that can help other people, and it is also such a blessing to find help when I need it. Is this not why we are here? to help each other along the path back home to our Heavenly Father? Such a great blessing.
Well family have a fantastic week! Love you all so so so much!

Love, Hermana Taylor

Holy Ghost

8/11/14

Hi family!

Well this week it was a little rainy, but more than that hot, but more than that was the awesome lighting!!!!!!! I just wanted to stand outside and take pictures. But literally lit up the whole sky with like 15 rays of lightning. Oh also this week I had the opportunity to eat armadillo. What! I did not know you could eat those! It just tasted like pork, but hey, how many people can say they have eaten armidillo? oh and wild boar. yum!
Well we are working with a few investigators that can be baptized really soon. Just need a little bit of work. But wow, the Lord really is in the small things. For example, yesterday we invited one of our investigators Arturo to church, but he told us that he could not because he is taking care of his grandparents, but there might be a slight chance. Anyways yesterday we left the house running for church and guess what! I forgot my badge, my name and so we had to run back to the house and church was almost about to start. But when we left again (now with my nametag) Arturo appeared behind us on his bike and followed us all the way to church so we practically pushed him through the doors and he stayed for a little bit. Which is a great improvement! And He really liked it and to think if we had not been in that street where he passed us he would not have made it to church. I was grateful for it. And it happened because I forgot my name tag. The Lord works in mysterious ways! But His plan is perfect so it is just great!
Also I have been studying about the Holy Ghost this week. And it has been so cool to learn more! Something that I learned is that whenever we have had the desire to do something good or to follow Christ it is because the spirit has touched our hearts. ALL good things happen because of God and He works with us through His spirit. And for this it is essential to be baptized and confirmed so that we can have this personal guide for our whole lives until we make it back home to Heavenly Father. How great is the plan of our God!? It is the best plan hands down, no competition.

Have a fantastic week!

The Circus is Coming to Town

8/4/14

Hi Fam!

And I wrote that the circus is coming to town because on thursday we left our house to go to the church for a zone meeting and guess what passedmein the street! A giant trailer with monkeys and baboons and then another one with a camel and a GIANT hippo!! What! That has never happened to me before. It was pretty sweet. Oh and the animals really are part of the circus.
We had a few investagators in church yesterday and it makes me happy. Also those that have recently been baptized. They make me so happy! They are such great examples of faith and pressing forward! Oh! And something that I have come to realize even more here in the mission is that happiness is a choice! Wow sometimes i believe we do not like to hear this because our situation is a little annoying, bad, stressful, whatever word you would like to use and we just want to complain a little and blame it on our circumstance. BUT my family that is not the answer. We really do have the power to choose in fact that is one of the greatest gifts God has given us. And one way that helps us is if we are grateful, a little more grateful for the simple things that we have in life. Which family we have a lot because we are members of the true church!!! Woohoo! So enjoy I guess is the advice and I am still learning this as well. I believe it is a life long process. But how great. See ya later!

Hermana Taylor

WOOHOO!

7/28/14

Oh my dear family!

I have so much to tell you but not a lot of time. So are you ready? here it goes:
Elsa got baptized this week! Woohoo!!!!!! She was such a chosen one. Our district leader told us she was way prepared and of course she was! It´s Elsa! She was so so so so happy and grateful. She was a referral from a young man in he ward named Nefi who is really awesome. And elsa was just so so so grateful for total. She has not had the easiest life and has suffered but is now so aliviated because of the Gospel. Yes it is true and truly can change the lives of totals!! She understands the Gospel amazingly well. She makes my companion and I so happy!
Also, wow! Yesterday the class in Gospel Principles was awesome! We talked about baptism and had recent converts in there that shared powerful testimonies of the change that has come into their lives because of baptism. It was awesome! because we also had some investigators that are just learning. One of them is Hansel. He told us of his experience with the book of mormon that I want o share with you real fast: he told us his grandma had died and that in one of her boxes of books and things found the book of mormon and in this moment he did not really believe in God or anything and you know what! he opened the book of mormon and the first thing he read was what! Mormon 9:1 which says ´and now I would like to speak to those who do not believe in christ´ or something close to that, but wow! God really does know us individually and the book of mormon has a ton of power. And everyone in the class was just loving it. especially us missionaries. ah! it was awesome!

Well I gotta go! I hope you have a splendid week! I love you all so much!

What A Joy!

7/21/14

Well hello my family!!

Well I learned a few things this week that have been in my mind and I would like to share them with you. I had an interview with Presidente George and he is just awesome! Something he helped me realize was that happiness is a choice. LIke the scriptures say men are that they might have JOY! We exist because God wants us to be happy. In all the things we do we can find joy and I believe that sometimes we just forget to look for it. So I hope family that you can find the joy in EVERYTHING that you do. Like my sister training leader, Hermana Tovar, told me this week, we find joy when we serve others with love.
Also! We had a great small miracle. Her name is Elsa and she is going to be baptized this Saturday! We are working hard for this to come to pass. She has been awesome from the time we met her. She is older in her early 60s i think and just awesome. The Lord truly does place people in out path.
That is all for this week! Oh!  I also am more than half way through my mission! What! And one of the greatest things I have learned is that a lot of people just need to be loved and feel like someone cares about them. What a joy it is to bring the Gospel to these people so that they can feel the love of God! Love you tons family!! Have a splendid week!

Great Blessings of the Gospel

7/14/14

Hola!

This week we got to meet President George. He is from Wyoming and owns a dairy farm with 1050 cows.wow! He is tall like me, I do not know if he is taller than me though. didn´t check. He is really awesome and I am excited to be guided by him. Something that he said that is so simple but so true he said, ´if you are not happy or you do not like something about what you are doing, you can change´ wow! and how true that is and how blessed we are to have the atonement in our lives so that we can make those changes. And I LOVE reading the scriptures. They are just filled with goodness and tell us everything that we need to do to be happy in this life and then for eternity! yes!  We have a few people who are progressing really well and understanding the gospel. two of them of Adalberto and Lucia. When we are teaching they always ask questions about the doctrine we are about to explain, for example we were talking about prophets specifically Joseph smith and adalberto said well should not there be someone today that still has this authority and were got really excited and said YES! It makes me happy when people understand the importance and GREAT blessings of the Gospel. Well this is all I have time for. I love you all so much and wish you a fantastic week!

Hermana Taylor

Woohoo!

7/7/14

Oh my dear family!

Well guess what! I made it to 20 years!! woohoo!! We had a good celebration. Some families from the ward threw me a little party and we ate pizza and cake. Delicious!
Oh and I need to tell you before I forget that my mission presidente changed! His name is President George and he is from Wyoming. I have not met him yet, but this friday I will have the pleasure.
This week we baptized Julio and Guadalupe! They are so so so great! and I think of them as a birthday gift to me. It truly has been such a blessing to serve them and bring the news of the Gospel to them. They truly are amazing. Guadalupe is the mother of Julio and her husband did not like us teaching her, but she really wanted to be baptized. So we prayed and prayed and prayed and Heavenly Father answered our prayer and her husband is okay with it. Yes!
Well I have to go, but something that stuck out to me in my stuyding today was about repentance. It takes time to truly repent. It also truly changes the way we think to something more heavenly. It truly can change lives! We just have to have the desire to become a little better. And EVERYONE can repent from ANY sin they have committed. Whether it big or small. Because no unclean can enter the kingdom of God, even if it is just a little bit dirty. Well I love you all more than you can ever know!!!

Love,
Hermana Taylor

Holy Donkey!

6/30/14

Holy cow family!!!
This week was so so hot!!! So hot! sometimes we just sweat and then shower but by the time I get my fresh clothes on I am already sweating. Something that really touched me this week was we were with an investigator, her name is Julia and she is 72 years old and has lived with her 'husband' for more than twenty years but they never married...yet. We were teaching her about the law of chastity and when we finished the lesson she said the prayer and in her prayer she thanked Heavenly Father that we (the misionaries) have come to teach her about things she did not know. And something hit me when she said this. like, wow some people really just do not know. HOW BLESSED WE ARE TO KNOW THE GOSPEL!! I am so thankful for this knowledge in my life and I would not trade anything in the world for it! Also Julia has a donkey. Her name is Maria Isabel and she wanders all over.

Well I have to go!! I love you all so much and pray for you always! Adios!
Hermana Taylor

I love the Gospel. I love it so much!!

6/23/14

Well my family I love the Gospel. I love it so much!! This week was really really hot and it also rains almost every afternoon around 4 or 6 in the evening which sometimes we just get wet. We had transfers today but not for me and hermana salazar! We get to stay together for a little while longer. We have a similar sense of humor and so we laugh a lot. She is a really good missionary.
We are visiting with Yolanda who has 4 children and they are so great!! They want to be baptized but her husband is against it. We have only been teaching them for two weeks or so and she really likes our message. I ask that you could add her in your prayers and that the Lord can touch the heart of her husband so that he may be softened. They are so great. We are on the lookout for more people who are ready for the gospel. We are working hard and will continue to do so so that we can help people find their way to christ.
I love you all. I know that this is the true Gospel and that the scriptures are true! I love reading them everyday. There is always something new to find and apply to my life. I hope you enjoy them as much as I do! Well I have to go but have a fantastic week!

Only $3.00

6/16/14

Hola Family!

To start things off - I got a haircut. And lets just say that it got cut a lot. But the good thing is that it cost less than $3 and that it will grow back and least that is the hope.

Also this week was good!! We have a few investigators that are progressing and enjoying the church. We had 4 in sacrament meeting yesterday and it was wonderful. Also we got a reference from one of our investigators whose name is Julia. She told us to visit her niece Juana. And when we got to her house her husband Chano was there too. He told us that he had watched us walk by a million times and he would ask his wife - why don't they come talk to me!? He has wanted to talk to us for a long time and he was just so happy that we finally came to his house. He is so excited and we had a activity for father's day this last thursday and he went to that too! He is great and his wife also.

We also visited with less active member and she is great and came to church yesterday. Sometimes people just need to be invited to do things and feel loved. Feel like someone is thinking of them and how they are doing. So I encourage you if you have a thought to reach out to someone through text or a phone call DO IT! You might just be that little bit of love they needed that day.

Also this week I found out that my zone leader who is also a missionary in the ward I am in lived in Helaman Halls the same time we did! we as in karlie and I. It is a very small world in the church.

Well that is about it this week! I love you all so much and pray for you a lot. Keep being the wonderful human beings you are!

Love Hermana Taylor

Lizards

6/9/14

Hola Familia!!

This week was good! We had a lot of support from different members and I finding lots of new people to teach. We actually found this week less-active members that we did not know were less active. Obed is 22 and was baptized when he was really young and does not really remember anything but is really open to learn again. ANd then we found Benito and Josefa who are also members but are less active. And they are so excited to learn about the ]Gospel again. And can I just tell you that through referencias (I do not remember the word in english, references? it is when someone tells us, the missionaries, of someone that we can teach) anyways, through references from members we are finding a lot of people to teach. Members are so important in the work of the Lord and also it is important to magnify callings that are given to us. All of these things are to help everyone feel the love of God and feel that someone cares about them. I do not really have much more time. But this week was good! Oh! quick story. on Saturday we went to the relief society presidents house because we had a cita (an appointment) with her, but I had to go to the bathroom really bad so I ran to her bathroom. I reached for the toilet paper role and guess what was inside, a little lizard!!!!!! it jumped out and ran away. I did not scream but I was a little shocked and I thought "only in mexico" it made me smile. Anyways love you fam!!! Glad to hear you are all doing so well and thank you so so much for your emails!!
